Is Convenience Making You Tired, Bloated, and Stuck?

Life has never been easier.

We can order groceries, meals, packages—basically anything—with a few taps and have it at our door in hours (sometimes minutes). By all logic, this should mean we have more time and more energy.

And yet…
we’re more tired, more bloated, and more overwhelmed than ever.

I see this in my clients—and if I’m being honest, I see it in myself too.

Somewhere along the way, convenience stopped helping and started quietly working against us.

When everything is easy, our brains get really good at avoiding the harder things that actually support our health:

  • Cooking real food

  • Meal prep

  • Movement

  • Slowing down

And the food that shows up hot and ready on the doorstep? It often comes with a cost—refined oils, excess sodium, additives, and not nearly enough protein or fiber.

The result looks like:

  • Low energy

  • Bloating and digestive discomfort

  • That constant “ugh, why do I feel like this?” feeling

Which makes us reach for… more convenience.
It’s a sneaky loop.

So lately, I’ve been asking myself one simple question:
Which conveniences actually help me—and which ones quietly hurt me?

For me, the place I’m starting is cooking more meals at home.
Not perfectly.
Not fancy.
Just more often.

Because when I control the ingredients and the quality of my food, my digestion improves, my energy feels steadier, and life gets a little easier overall.

Now, let me be clear—there is absolutely a time and place for convenience.
Hockey tournaments. Long road trips. Real-life chaos.

(Confession: I have not reached the “packing a cooler for the entire weekend” phase of life yet. Maybe one day. Definitely not this season.)

This isn’t about doing everything the hard way.
It’s about being intentional about where we trade convenience for care.
